Coffeyville Regional Medical Center, or "CRMC", is a 25-bed,non-profit, critical access hospital serving Southeast Kansas and Northeast Oklahoma since 1949. Some have been here 30-plus years; they know you, not only as a patient, but as a friend and neighbor.GENERAL DESCRIPTION:The Pharmacy Technician assists licensed pharmacists with the preparation and distribution of prescribed medications. S/he fills orders for patients, ensures that they are delivered to the correct units and assures appropriate drug inventory.JOB DUTIES:
Prepare medications for patients
Receive and verify medication shipments
Deliver medications to medical staff
Enter charges and credits into medical records and billing systems
Obtain pharmacist’s approval for prepared doses
Unit dose preparation of oral solids and liquids from bulk bottle
Restock automated medication dispensing systems
Ensure availability of drugs by delivering them to patients or facilities
Assist with area checks for drug control and inventory management
Maintain pharmacy’s (and its patients’ employees’) safety by adhering to infection-control procedures, policies and regulations
Maintain confidentiality of all information according to HIPAA and company policy
The Pharmacy Technician assumes other responsibilities as assigned.JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Analytical ability to apply criteria and evaluate information to make decisions
Strong verbal and written communication skills; and excellent interpersonal skills in teaming with patients, medical staff and the public
Detail oriented with proven ability to multitask
Professional appearance and ease in developing rapport with others
Computer skills including MSOffice, Outlook, Meditech, preferred
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: * Graduate of accredited Pharmacy Technician program, required
Current National Pharmacy Technician certification or ability to obtain certification within one year of employment, required
Current Kansas State Board of Pharmacy Technician License, required
