- Four-year degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture or a related field, or a two-year degree in Mechanical or CAD Drafting, or at least five years’ industrial construction experience.
- Minimum of three years’ estimating experience with a thorough understanding of industrial mechanical systems, equipment, drawings, specifications, and techniques.
- Project Management experience is preferred.
- Proficient in MS Office Suite and other related estimating software.
- Proven organization and time management experience; able to manage multiple projects at one time, meeting and exceeding established deadlines
- Valid state driver's license, ability to visit job sites as needed.
- Follow established policies and procedures related to the proposal process, including estimating and proposals; prepare proposals in a timely manner, ensuring that they align with objectives and budget targets.
- Comply with the centralized cost estimating database and following formal standard operating procedure to support cost estimating, to ensure historical data is utilized.
- Prepare cost estimates for large, complex, multi-disciplined projects at various stages of design from conceptual and budget to detailed take-off and pricing; coordinate and lead project meetings and review schedules to fully understand agreements and work scope.
- Collect and analyze project data and information, equipment drawings, schedules, submittals, material lists, specifications, and other related documents.
- Support project management during all project phases.
- Work with the preconstruction team and Industrial leadership to identify opportunities to create efficiencies, cost savings and customer value enhancements.
- Perform analysis of collected data and metrics; determine project requirements and prepare and present complex proposals to project management for approval.
- Lead management of incoming and outgoing drawings and create and maintain appropriate logs for assigned construction projects until handoff to the execution team.
- Negotiate construction prices with service providers, vendors and subcontractors for competitive proposal development; obtain multiple quotes and select the most suitable offers. Evaluate offers to purchase.
- Prepare economic feasibility studies on changes and adjustments to cost estimates. Perform risk assessments to account for potential deviation from the project plan and resolve cost discrepancies as needed.
- Work with Industrial leadership to investigate and make recommendations to review and identify opportunities to create efficiencies, cost savings and customer value enhancements.
- Develop and foster an environment of open communication, collaboration and mutual respect; support team meetings, consistent communication, reporting and feedback both within your team and with leadership. Communicate with architects, engineers, clients, contractors, and subcontractors efficiently.
