Reporting to the Manager, Nutritional Services, you will serve food on patient tray assembly, in cafeteria, and at catered events. This position will also need to wash dishes, utensils, pots, equipment, walls, floors, cabinets, etc.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Sets up, washes, cleans and refills tray assembly line positions.
  • Portions/serves food, using correct utensils for portion control.
  • Picks up and returns soiled dishes to dish room.
  • Prepares dishes for washing, washes them in the dish machine and puts them away.
  • Operates, cleans, and sanitizes equipment.
  • Cleans floors, walls, cabinets, etc.
  • Removes garbage/boxes/grease from department.
  • Obtains supplies and returns unused supplies to proper storage area.
  • Washes/sanitizes pots.
  • Makes/deliveries late trays, patient nourishments/coffee services/and assists with catered events.
  • Manages own time in a productive and reliable manner completing work assignments on time.
  • Completes appropriate volume of work while maintaining quality standards.
  • Organize work procedures to general acceptable levels of productivity.
  • Completes own work as required and will assist others as needed.
  • Cooperates with coworkers and management to maintain a harmonious environment.
  • Adjusts work schedule to accommodate changing priorities.
  • Operates assigned equipment and performs all procedures in a safe manner
  • Utilizes proper body mechanics in all job functions.
  • Follows established emergency, infection control and/or universal precautions procedures as required.
  • Maintains work area and equipment according to standards and policies.
  • Attends mandatory in-services related to safety and/or infection control.
  • Supports and participates in department quality improvement activities.
  • Provides quality improvements, which enhance effectiveness and efficiency of department.
  • Provides courteous service to internal/external customers in all activities.
  • Offers assistance to internal/external customers as appropriate and/or refers customers to appropriate individual or department.
  • Communicates in a professional manner emphasizing objectivity and non-judgmental viewpoints.
  • Assists in solving customer problems in a cooperative manner.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

  • High School Diploma or GED
PHYSICAL DEMANDSWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand and walk as well as occasionally stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Using proper body mechanics, the employee may be expected to lift, pull, push or move patients and/or equipment. Fine motor skills are required when using hands and fingers to handle, feel or reach. Normal or corrected vision, hearing and ability to speak are necessary. Specific vision abilities required include close vision, sharp eye focus and ability to distinguish colors.
