Job purposeTrajan Wealth is a rapidly growing Registered Investment Advisor (RIA) and Estate Planning firm dedicated to providing clients with personalized financial advice and differentiated investment strategies. Our mission is to help individuals and families achieve financial security through expert guidance, fiduciary responsibility, and outstanding client support.Department Description:The Investment Management team is responsible for setting the firm's investment strategy, developing unique model portfolios, day-to-day oversight, trading, and rebalancing client portfolios. This includes conducting rigorous macroeconomic and market research, managing asset allocation across risk profiles, selecting and monitoring investments through both bottom-up and top-down research, and driving innovation in our investment offerings. The department also supports client-facing teams through timely market commentary, investment education, slide decks, and external blogs, whitepapers, and media commentary. The team maintains disciplined oversight of risk management, trading operations, and performance attribution. As the strategic backbone of our investment platform, our team plays a central role in delivering consistent, high-quality investment outcomes to our clients, and reinforces Trajan Wealth's position as a leader in the investment management industry.This position is 5 days onsite at our Scottsdale Corporate office.Duties and responsibilitiesTrading & Portfolio Execution (40%)
  • Execute daily trades across client accounts with precision and timeliness.
  • Monitor trade activity, settlements, and reconciliations to identify and correct trade discrepancies.
  • Perform portfolio rebalancing and assist with model updates using a proprietary portfolio management system.
  • Support compliance with best-execution standards and trading procedures.
Portfolio Analytics & Research (30%)
  • Perform quantitative and qualitative analysis on current and prospective holdings.
  • Contribute to ongoing monitoring of economic indicators, market trends, and asset class performance.
  • Assist with due diligence and selection of investments across public and private market sectors.
  • Generate insights and support the creation of internal and external investment content.
  • Develop and maintain key business relationships.
Client Reporting & Communication (20%)
  • Prepare and update factsheets, market commentary, and quarterly performance reports.
  • Create client proposals and performance attribution analysis.
  • Collaborate with client-facing teams to produce high-quality, client-ready materials.
Process Improvement & Strategic Projects (10%)
  • Identify, recommend, and implement improvements to streamline workflows and reduce operational risk.
  • Assist in the development of scalable systems and reporting solutions.
  • Participate in firmwide initiatives, including technology integration and content creation.
  • Additional duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree in finance, economics, accounting, or related field.
  • Working knowledge of financial markets, portfolio construction, and trading mechanics.
  • Completion of or progress towards the CFA, CFP, or other industry designations, or a willingness to pursue.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, "can do" attitude.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and oral communication abilities.
  • Team-oriented mindset with a proactive, creative, resourceful attitude.
  • Commitment to confidentiality, fiduciary ethics, and client-first standards.
  • Proficiency with Excel, portfolio management systems, and custodians.
Working conditionsThis is an in-office (not remote) position. Requires sitting, typing, and working on a computer for long periods of time in an open office environment (cubicle).Benefits
