The OpportunityThis position works out of our Lake County IL, in the Commercial Delivery Solutions organization. The Commercial Delivery Solutions organization combines functional and technical responsibilities and has primary responsibilities for planning, building, and delivering of global commercial solutions across all divisions within Abbott.As the IT Program Manager you’ll have the chance to work on aligning revenue management related IT solutions with business strategies and work on building strong relationships across various clients and IT groups. You will also have the opportunity to experience supporting all aspects of information technology within the following revenue management related areas, with an emphasis on global healthcare consumer goods:
  • Salesforce CRM/CPQ/CLM
  • Service Platforms
  • Revenue Management and Contracting
  • Pricing and Tender Management
  • Trade Promotion Management Optimization
  • Integrations/Middleware
  • Global Data Warehouse
  • Master Data Management (MDM)
What You’ll Work On
  • Manage, coordinate and develop detailed programs and project plans, inclusive of multiple workstreams, for application (upgrades, integrations, and implementations) initiatives, including scope, timeline, budget, resources, and risk management strategies.
  • Lead the execution of these programs and plans, ensuring that projects meet their milestones and deliverables.
  • Gather and prioritize system and application requirements from stakeholders to inform deliverable strategies and expected outcomes.
  • Create and manage timelines, charts, tracking templates, and project schedules to ensure efficiency of the execution of the project.
  • Act as the primary IT liaison between Business Relationship Managers, business partners, and external partners to ensure clear communication and alignment on program and project objectives, timelines, and outcomes.
  • Work closely with technical teams and provide oversight to the design and the implementation of project solutions that align with business requirements and IT standards.
  • Continuously assess and resolve for the degree of changes of scope, the impact of issues identified and the highlighted risks that may affect projects, by working with division or senior/executive management and sponsors to agree upon resolution.
  • Communicate progress by producing reports to provide timely and accurate project status and decision support information to Project Team, Division Leads, Cross Division Leads and Executive Management. Make recommendations and provide mitigation plans based on project status to resolve issues.
  • Manage requests for proposals (RFP) and work closely with vendor during the RFP evaluation (preliminary phase – Phase 0) of the project. Ensure open communication for proper decision making by providing demonstrations and clear proposals.
  • Collaborate with vendors and third-party service providers to identify and implement scope of work (SOW) and act as point of contact for any support needs.
  • Collaborate with business partners in the preparation of request for capital and expenditure (RCE) and in the elaboration of return on investment (ROI).
  • Negotiate contracts, manage vendor performance, and resolve for any issues that arise.
  • Lead change management initiatives to facilitate the adoption of new systems and processes.
  • Manage, motivate, and mentor team members and cross-functional project teams.
  • Responsible for compliance with applicable corporate and division specific policies and procedures.
  • Willing and able to travel approximately 10% of the time for project needs.
Required Qualifications
  • B.S. in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information and Technology, or similar engineering discipline.
  • Overall 10+ years IT experience with at least 6 yrs. experience as a Project Manager/ Program Manager or other managerial position.
  • Ability to understand business requirements and convert them into a scalable solution design.
  • Thorough understanding of project/program management techniques and methods (i.e. Waterfall, Agile).
  • Strong presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to balance multiple projects simultaneously; workload will be a blend of small, medium, and large implementation projects, as well as providing support to DevOps and RUN Support Teams.
Preferred Qualifications
  • M.S. in Computer Science, Information Systems, Information and Technology, or similar engineering discipline
  • PMP Certified
  • Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving and organizational skills
