- 2-4 years of design/furniture retail sales experience preferred (Hive Home)
- Proficient in Mac Operating System, iOS devices, Microsoft Office, and Google Applications
- Passion for design
- Strong customer service skills and a positive attitude
- Professional communication and social skills appropriate for guest interaction
- Professional attire and appearance in keeping with Hive Personal appearance standards
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced team atmosphere
- Provide a positive customer experience, being confident, intuitive, and directive
- Welcome customers with sincerity and enthusiasm to create a warm and welcoming experience
- Maintain an active floor presence, demonstrating availability and openness to customers
- Engage customers with an intuitive approach to determine their needs
- Ensure proper sizing and scale of furniture and accessories to the client’s room or home
- Ring customers at the cash register by taking payment and issuing receipts
- Complete the customer experience with an accurate and efficient checkout
- Respond to inquiries with pricing, inventory, returns, and delivery information
- Send professional thank you notes to your customers
- Be gracious when accepting returns and turn them into a sale when possible
- Monitor inventory levels and restock as needed
- Gift wrap as needed
- Communicate and assist customers with requests in-store and via phone or email, following through until delivery and/or installation
- Team up with other salespeople to best serve the client’s needs
- Address all customer concerns in a proactive and helpful manner
- Listen attentively to the customer and acknowledge their concerns and needs
- Defuse frustration and anger with understanding and care
- Outreach to support in-store and online sales, and invite customers to special events when appropriate
- Maintain the store when customers are not present, including receiving shipments, stocking, and maintaining displays
- Complete projects and tasks accurately and on time
- Follow inventory procedures
- Demonstrate knowledge and proficiency in all tasks and procedures to support the sales floor

- Ability to lift and mobilize small to medium items, up to 15 lbs., while utilizing appropriate equipment and safety techniques
- Ability to maneuver effectively around the floor, stock room, and cash wrap
- Able to stand and walk during 8-10 hour shifts, with prolonged standing, walking, kneeling, bending, and performing repetitive hand/arm movements
- Able to interact verbally with other employees
- Able to understand and follow standard operating procedures
- Flexibility with scheduling, including availability to work weekends
