Shift: Days, 40 hours per week (schedule may vary with sports activities; weekend coverage required)Position SummaryOaklawn Hospital is seeking a qualified Certified Athletic Trainer (ATC) to join our Sports Rehabilitation team on a temporary contract. The Athletic Trainer will provide comprehensive healthcare services to student-athletes within a local school district, focusing on injury prevention, evaluation, immediate care, treatment, rehabilitation, and wellness promotion. This position requires close collaboration with students, parents, coaches, physicians, and rehabilitation professionals to ensure the health, safety, and performance of the athletic population.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesProvide athletic training services, including injury and illness prevention, clinical evaluation, and rehabilitation.Deliver sideline and event coverage during practices, games, and tournaments.Respond to emergency and acute injuries with appropriate first aid and medical intervention.Develop, implement, and monitor injury prevention and rehabilitation programs.Fit braces, tape athletes, and assist with equipment management.Maintain accurate documentation through the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system.Collaborate with physicians, rehabilitation managers, and coaches to support return-to-play decisions.Educate athletes, parents, and the community regarding wellness, injury prevention, and safe training practices.Participate in community outreach initiatives, wellness events, and sports performance programs.QualificationsEducation/Certification:Bachelor's or Master's degree in Athletic Training or related field.Active Michigan Athletic Trainer License (required).BLS (American Heart Association) certification (required).Experience:Minimum of two (2) years of professional experience in Sports Medicine.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Demonstrated ability to evaluate, treat, and rehabilitate athletic injuries.Strong communication and interpersonal skills for interaction with athletes, parents, coaches, and medical professionals.Ability to work independently in both clinical and field environments.Flexibility to accommodate schedules aligned with sports activities, including weekends.About Oaklawn HospitalOaklawn Hospital is a 78-bed, state-of-the-art healthcare facility located in Marshall, Michigan.
