Under the direction of the Clinical Leader and Medical Director, provides assessment and programming of implantable pacemakers and defibrillators by interpreting the technical and physiological functions of various vendor specific implantable devices. Provides routine device interrogations, pacing and sensing thresholds testing along with troubleshooting complex arrhythmias. Completes device evaluations in the hospital at CMC, in the offices at DHK and regional locations as scheduled. This includes analysis of pacemakers, setting adjustments, and troubleshooting. Liaison to the cardiology billing and coding staff. Coordinates educational needs of staff, the organization and community. Provides patient education to device and arrhythmia patients, enrolls patients into remote follow up services and completes device interrogations from remote follow up transmissions. Coordinates office and procedure scheduling. Functions in the role of liaison to the operating room and radiology intervention room staff, Performs stress tests (echo stress, cardiac stress, pharmacological stress) under the supervision of the MD. Performs ECG functions of various vendor specific implantable devices. Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Current NH RN license. ACLS / BLS Minimum 5 years relevant clinical experience in cardiac care required. Must complete/validate a competency based orientation specific to electrophysiology and pacing. Cardiac arrhythmias and cardiac anatomy and function. IV therapy experience required. Excellent oral and written skills, interpersonal and customer service skills.Ability to adapt to stressful situations quickly and effectively. Demonstrates critical thinking skills. Effective team building and problem solving skills.
