  • Applies physical therapy procedures to patients through use of therapeutic exercise, mechanical traction, therapeutic massage, compression, heat, cold, ultraviolet light, water (whirlpool), and electricity.
  • Measures and fits walkers, canes, crutches, and wheelchair, and provides instructions on the use and care of these items.
  • Provides instruction in transfers, activities of daily living, gait, pulmonary function, and the use and care of orthosis, prosthesis, and supportive devices.
  • Performs measurements without interpretation for range of motion, gross muscle strength, length and girth of body parts, and vital signs.
  • Modifies treatment program within the limits of the specific plan of care according to the residents’ needs and response. Reports changes to the supervisor in writing.
  • Communicates with staff members and other healthcare professionals on resident’s status and care.
  • Complies with OSHA standards and ensures the safety of residents in their care at all times.
  • Adheres to infection control policies, professional therapeutic services, and Community First Solution’s standards, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Prepares, transmits, and maintains timely and accurate records to include the initial evaluation, progress notes, and attendance records.
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures of the organization and all federal and state laws regarding the privacy of protected health information.
  • Adhere to all policies and procedures of the organization regarding the use of technology and technology-based information.
  • Responsible for welcoming and on-boarding new employees.

Qualifications:Education: Associate’s degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant Program.Licenses or other required certifications: Current Ohio Physical Therapist Assistant LicenseExperience: At least three years’ experience, preferably in a long-term healthcare environment.Specialized knowledge, skills, or abilities:
