- Minimum five years of administrative human resources experience.
- Professional certification (i.e. PHR, SHRM-CP) desired but not required.
- Experience in benefits and compensation administration.
- Formal training or equivalent experience in employment law, compensation, organizational planning, organizational development, employee relations, training, and/or labor relations.
- Ability to handle and prioritize multiple tasks and work with little to no supervision.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
- General knowledge of employment laws and practices.
- Ability to adhere to established security and confidentiality practices and to protect sensitive information including: Personally Identifiable Information and other Controlled Unclassified Information.
- Set up files on all new personnel and assigns employee number. Records changes on all employee status as necessary (e.g. change of address, rate increases, terminations, etc.) and coordinates with Accounting regarding payroll processing.
- Answer routine inquiries from inside and outside the company on employment verifications, benefit claims processing, and job openings in line with written company policy on these matters.
- Administer new employee on boarding program.
- Administer benefit program to include: claim resolution, employee enrollment, employee benefit termination notifications, and vendor coordination of changes.
- Verify and submit invoices for approval to the Director of Human Resources. Recommend changes in benefits offered as appropriate.
- Conduct benefit audit to insure deductions correspond with HRIS and Accounting systems.
- Update and maintain compliance calendar. Advise Director of HR of upcoming requirements for reports/filings.
- Maintain HRIS records and generate reports from database as required.
- Compile statistical data each year for Affirmation Action Plan, i.e. Job Group Analysis, Work Group Analysis, New Hire Log, Terminations Log, Promotions/Transfers Log, Summary of Personnel Activity and Applicant Log.
- Generate Personnel Action Forms for all employee changes for Director of HR signature. Enters changes into and coordinates with Accounting to insure changes are made in the payroll system.
- Prepare EEO-1, VETS-100, and OSHA 300 reports for Director's signature. Insures OSHA 300 reports are posted at each worksite as required by law.
- Administer and track Workers Compensation claims.
- Administer COBRA benefits through approved vendor (i.e. Discovery Benefits).
- Maintain and update HR Webpage on Sharepoint.
- Maintain and update MilSup Employee Handbook.
- Maintain Federal and State posters for all locations.
- Conduct background checks, create offer letters, locate drug screen locations on targeted applicants for hire.
- Create and update job descriptions as required and post them to the career page.
- Create and update HR procedural checklists as required.
- Participate in candidate interviews with or on behalf of Director of HR as required.
- Act as primary POC for HR Department in absence of Director of HR.
- Perform other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
