The Coordinator is integral to managing fiscal operations of the MSU Library as well as working with library departments and faculty on projects and engagement with students and/or student groups.
Duties and ResponsibilitiesFunctional Support
- Provide customer service, functional, and project support for the administration department and the library organization.
- Research and resolve problems, gather facts and data to make informed decisions or inform leadership as appropriate.
- Managing productions schedule for library publications including coordinating with graphic design staff and scholarly communications team.
- Coordinate with library departments and committees to identify areas to increase student engagement
- Work directly with students to understand how they are or are not connected with the MSU Library, what their needs are, and how the organization can work more closely with students.
- Develop and maintain partnerships across campus to promote library services to and with student groups, promote the library as a partner in student success, and identify areas to enhance library support.
- Serves as account manager for purchasing card transactions, including monthly report compilation.
- Support and coordinate travel: initiate travel pre-authorizations, make travel reservations (air, hotel, car, etc.), create itineraries, and assure timely processing of travel expense vouchers/reimbursement requests according to university policies.
- Serves as departmental liaison with Fiscal Shared Services for the centralized accounting services.
- Work closely with Fiscal Shared Services and central finance to ensure resources are used in accordance with university policies and procedures related to business procedures, purchasing policies and procedures, and travel policies.
- Maintain knowledge and regular review of all business operational systems, automated processes, and related technology.
- Successful experience in excellent interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Demonstrated experience of strong attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, identify long-range goals, design realistic plans to attain them, and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated ability to work with audiences with a broad range of backgrounds and varying levels of experience in research, measurement, and analysis.
- Successful experience and knowledge of student engagement strategies, particularly for first-year and underrepresented student populations.
- Demonstrated experience of exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Project Management experience.
- Use of software or technologies to manage projects and multiple contributors.
- Demonstrated experience working with and engaging with college students.
- Demonstrated practice in user experience or assessment practices such as focus groups or research studies.
