QUALIFICATIONSApplicants must have a Ph.D. (U.S. or foreign equivalent) in mathematics, mathematics education, or in a closely related field, or alternatively, ABD nearing completion of the Ph.D. will be considered, with the initial appointment to be made at the rank of instructor. Applicants must be able to demonstrate a commitment to excellence in teaching and show strong potential for productive research/scholarly activities.How to ApplyTo be considered for this opportunity, all interested applicants must apply online at providing the following application materials:

  • A cover letter addressing the candidate's interest in and/or experience with educating future mathematics teachers. We encourage applicants without prior experience in this area to describe their interest and potential to contribute.
  • Names and contact information of three professional references. Candidates will be contacted if letters of recommendation are desired. At least one of the references should be able to address the candidate’s teaching.
  • A two-page statement detailing your teaching experience and your teaching philosophy.
  • A two-page statement (in a language understandable to a broad range of math, statistics, and actuarial faculty) outlining your current and future research and indicating how your research agenda will enhance our current efforts, including undergraduate research.
  • A two-page statement describing how you have fostered a welcoming environment that supports students of all backgrounds in your teaching, research, and/or service. If you have not had an opportunity to do so, please describe how you aspire to foster such an environment.
