Job Category: IT - Information TechnologyJob Description:This position is central to the missionaries' role to 'Invite others to come unto Christ by helping them receive the restored gospel through faith in Jesus Christ and His Atonement, repentance, baptism, receiving the gift of the Holy Ghost, and enduring to the end.' Engineer is a lead support level individual contributor that provides on-site support for maintenance, installation and management of all media equipment and systems at the MTC. Assists in supervision of work of media team and training of team members.Responsibilities:Reports to supervisor or manager level in technology department
Completes maintenance and repair of A/V systems
Installs new systems
Provides technical support for special events including the operations of cameras, laptop computers, projectors, and audio equipment
Assists in supervising work of Media team and reports to A/V Implementation Engineer
Trains media technicians/engineers
May include other temporary assigned duties at the MTC (e.g. assisting with Mission Leadership Seminar)Qualifications:Required:
1 year audio/visual work experience
Diagnosis of electrical/electronic systems failures/test equipment familiarity
Communication skills
Mentoring skills
Ability to independently lift and position objects weighing as much as 50 pounds
Ability to stand, walk, kneel, squat, stoop, push, pull, twist, bend, and perform repetitive movements for extended periods of time.
To successfully perform the essential functions of the job, there may be physical requirements which need to be met such as sitting for long periods of time and using monitors/equipment.
Preferred:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or Broadcast type major
Experience in the MTC Media Department
1 year of supervisory or leadership experience
1 year of soldering experience
1 year of basic computer programming/networking experience
