
Facility Assessor - Interiors

- Conduct comprehensive Facility Condition Assessments (FCAs) across a variety of military buildings and infrastructure
- Evaluate and document the condition of systems including mechanical, electrical, plumbing (MEP), fire protection, roofing, building envelope, and architectural components
- Utilize Army BUILDER or similar asset management software to record findings, inventory data, and lifecycle assessments
- Travel extensively (50–75%) to military bases nationwide
- Collaborate with federal clients such as NAVFAC, USACE, and other DoD entities
- Prepare detailed technical reports with recommendations for maintenance, upgrades, and capital planning
- Identify and classify building components
- Record serial numbers, make/model, installation year, and other asset data
- Submit structured data for centralized reporting
- Lifecycle Evaluation
- Visually assess remaining service life of systems (e.g., HVAC, windows, sprinklers)
- Determine performance against design expectations
- Provide descriptive comments on operational impairments and root causes
- Degree or certification in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, or related field
- Familiarity with DoD facility standards and federal building codes
- Experience using FCA tools such as BUILDER, VFA, or similar platforms
- Ability to work independently and manage travel-heavy schedules
- Strong technical writing and documentation skills
- Solid understanding of building systems and construction methods
- Proficiency with mobile data collection tools and platforms (tablet-based systems)
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
- Comfortable with moderate physical activity (e.g., climbing ladders, walking sites)
- Experience with SharePoint and cloud-based collaboration tools (preferred)
- Good personal credit required for travel reimbursement processing
- PE, EIT, or Registered Architect credentials (preferred but not required)
- 5+ years of experience conducting FCAs or similar building inspections
- Technical college or trade school certification in a building-related discipline
