- Manage and mentor a diverse team of engineers, including Electrical Engineers, R&D Engineers, Manufacturing Engineers, Software Engineers, and Mechanical Engineers.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Provide necessary leadership, training, mentoring, and coaching to direct reports.
- Oversee the planning, execution, and completion of engineering projects.
- Ensure projects meet quality, budget, and timeline requirements.
- Coordinate the execution of engineering activities from design concept through production launch and commissioning.
- Make sure the proper project documentation is in place.
- Provide technical guidance and support in electrical engineering, including design, development, and troubleshooting of electrical systems.
- Lead the technical evaluation of applications, mechanical, electrical, controls, and structural design aspects of product design.
- Build and implement a system of "Lean" development and improvement.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, quality assurance, and R&D, to ensure seamless integration of engineering solutions.
- Interact with other engineering sites overseas
- Interact directly with production and other departments to prepare, change, and finalize engineering design project specifications.
- Ensure all engineering activities comply with industry standards, regulations, and company policies.
- Manage and ensure product developments meet compliance requirements according to applicable standards.
- Prepare and present regular reports on project status, departmental performance, and key metrics for senior management.
- Participate in and contribute to strategic planning, implementation, and execution.
- Drive innovation, identifying IP opportunities and threats for new products.
- Conduct design-specific and technical analysis and proposals of customer product needs and specifications.
- Establish processes for the team to seek and act upon customer feedback.
- Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related field; master's degree preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in engineering, with at least 3 years in a managerial role.
- Experience in managing design, project initiatives, and associated support staff.
- Experience in driving innovation, identifying IP opportunities and threats for new products.
- Experience in providing expert advice and supporting the training and development of engineers through formal and informal mentoring.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to manage and mentor a diverse team of engineers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
- Extensive knowledge of electrical engineering principles and practices, including design, development, and troubleshooting of electronics.
- Proficiency in project management methodologies, ensuring projects meet quality, budget, and timeline requirements.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.
- Ability to identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, productivity, and quality in manufacturing operations.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work closely with cross-functional teams, including production, quality assurance, and R&D.
- Knowledge of industry standards, regulations, and company policies to ensure all engineering activities comply with these requirements.
- Proficiency in Inventor and/or SolidWorks, CREO, ERM systems, and Microsoft Office, including Excel and Word.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and adapt to changing priorities.
- Ability to conduct design-specific and technical analysis and proposals of customer product needs and specifications.
