Senior Manager Global Trade & Supplier Compliance - TCRS4541HIGH LEVEL OVERVIEWThe Sr. Manager of Global Trade & Supplier Compliance plays a critical role in maintaining a robust trade program across global operations, ensuring compliance with all import and export rules and regulations. The Sr. Manager is also responsible for overseeing supplier compliance programs to ensure adherence to international import and export regulations as well as environmental, social and governance (ESG) standards.This is hybrid position based near Auburn Hills, Michigan.EXPECTATIONS
  • Expert level knowledge of customs regulations; HTS/ECCN Classification, COO, Valuation, FTA
  • Develop Trade Compliance policies and procedures to support an efficient and compliant supply chain
  • Understanding of export controls; EAR, ITAR, Dual Use, export license, Restricted Party Screening, etc.
  • Perform risk assessments and audits to develop risk mitigation strategies
  • Implement best practices, process improvements, and technology solutions to drive efficiency
  • Provide strategic direction on trade compliance for internal and external partners (suppliers, brokers)
  • Lead supplier compliance program to ensure adherence to local and global regulations
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex trade issues to multiple levels in the organization
  • Stay current with changes to regulations and understand the impact on import and export processes
ESSENTIALS
  • 10+ years’ experience in import and export compliance with 5 years in supplier compliance or ESG
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Change advocate utilizing data to drive process improvement and efficiency
  • Strong people leader, fostering a culture of collaboration and transparency
  • Experience with SAP
  • Automotive industry experience a plus
