This role ensures plant systems comply with standard practices and supports continuous improvement in performance across safety, environmental compliance, quality, cost control, and team development. The work schedule for this role is Monday – Friday, 1st shift. Work outside hours and on-call.JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Safety & Environmental Compliance
  • Promote a safety-first culture; ensure training, audits, and safety certifications.
  • Enforce safety policies, conduct plant tours, and implement corrective actions.
  • Respond to and investigate environmental incidents and spills; implement energy-saving practices.
  • Quality & Delivery
  • Monitor batchsheet compliance and process audits.
  • Investigate off-quality and customer complaints; lead corrective actions.
  • Maintain communication and coordination with planning teams to meet production schedules.
  • Cost & Inventory Management
  • Control labor, supply, and operating costs.
  • Support and lead waste reduction and cost-saving initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with raw material and inventory systems.
  • Team Development
  • Provide performance reviews, coaching, and training.
  • Maintain attendance and performance records.
  • Encourage associate participation in continuous improvement (OFIs).
  • Other Responsibilities
  • Act as backup to the Senior Production Manager.
  • Approve batchsheets and process changes as needed.
  • Support training system development and payroll/timekeeping review.
QUALIFICATIONS - REQUIRED
  • Bachelor's Degree in Chemical Engineering required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Previous management experience with teams
  • Ability to climb stairs and obtain medical clearance to wear a full-face respirator
  • This position requires candidates to be eligible to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship for a work visa (e.g., H-1B, TN, etc.).
The successful candidate will have strengths in the following:
  • Progressive management experience of teams
  • SAP knowledge and experience with SAP inventory management
  • Prior experience in chemical manufacturing
  • Previous experience managing 20+ associates in a manufacturing environment
  • Working knowledge of ISO Quality and Environmental Standards
  • A thoughtful communication style with the ability to listen, learn quickly, and communicate effectively across all levels—from hourly associates to senior plant leadership
  • Strong desire and ability to coach, mentor, and manage hourly associates
  • Excellent communication skills—verbal, written, and group presentations
  • Strong ability to manage multiple projects and thrive in a fast-paced environment
  • Well-developed analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated leadership and people development capabilities
