Job Description: Security Engineer IV (Virtualization)Key Responsibilities - Design, implement, maintain, and troubleshoot VMware vSphere ESXi Server environments.
- Develop, implement, and maintain advanced PowerShell and VMware PowerCLI scripting to automate tasks.
- Administer and optimize Horizon VDI environments with Unified Access Gateway (UAGs).
- Manage and optimize Windows 10/11 in virtualized environments using VMware Optimization tools.
- Support geographically dispersed multi-site VMware environments with expert-level troubleshooting.
- Administer VMware vCenter and vSphere ESXi host feature sets including vSphere Lifecycle Manager, vDS, HA, DRS, vCLS, and storage management.
- Administer, manage, and troubleshoot F5 LTM load balancing appliances for high availability.
- Administer, manage, and troubleshoot NetApp ONTAP, NetApp E-series Storage, Brocade Fibre Channel Switches, and SAN technology.
- Develop, maintain, and update detailed system documentation, diagrams, and records.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support IT infrastructure projects and provide expert-level technical leadership.
- Mentor junior engineers and provide guidance in technical best practices.
- Participate in 24/7/365 on-call rotation and support operational needs.
- Troubleshoot and resolve LAN/WAN connections, performance, and throughput issues.
- Ensure compliance with CIS Controls, NIST SP 800-53, and DISA STIG standards.
Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or related field; or equivalent combination of education, certifications, and experience.
- 10+ years of Information Security and Virtualization Systems Administration experience.
- Expert-level knowledge of VMware vCenter, vSphere ESXi, Horizon VDI, and related infrastructure technologies.
- Hands-on experience with F5 LTM load balancers, NetApp ONTAP storage, Brocade Fibre Channel switches, and SAN management.
- Strong scripting expertise using PowerShell and VMware PowerCLI.
- Current VMware certification (VCP-DCV 2025 or higher, e.g., VCAP-DCV).
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to lead teams, mentor junior staff, and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong knowledge of federal cybersecurity standards and compliance frameworks (CIS, NIST, DISA STIGs).
