The department pledges to provide a clean and healthy environment for the students and staff. In addition to overall administrative facilities cleanliness, the department provides assistance with event arrangements, daily operations and maintenance; and our custodians are considered essential personnel to support during weather emergencies, and the summer scheduling of our buildings. EASD custodians are responsible to maintain campus buildings as assigned in a neat, clean and orderly condition, cleaning classrooms, shop areas, hallways, offices, gymnasiums, restrooms, locker rooms, and pool areas; emptying waste baskets and handling trash/recyclable. Also, they may be required to perform minor maintenance, assist in setups for meetings/events, unlock and lock buildings, assist with snow removal, etc.Work schedule: 40 hours per week Monday - Friday 2nd shift. Standard hours of operation may change due to seasonal or programmatic changes. This is a bargaining unit position plus shift differentials.   • Bend/stoop, squat and reach above shoulder height occasionally
  • Lift and carry up to 10 pounds frequently
  • Lift and carry between 11 and 80 pounds occasionally
  • Do repetitive actions including grasping, pushing/pulling, frequent climbing, balancing, crouching, crawling, twisting/turning, feeling, hearing, talking frequently
  • Use head and neck in static position, flexing, and rotating frequently
PHYSICAL ENVIRONMENT:
Position encompasses entire building. Exposure to hazards include a variety of physical conditions such as closeness to moving mechanical equipment, electrical current, working on scaffolding, ladders or high places, exposure to chemicals and industrial cleaners.DRESS CODE:
Proper dress is required. Compliance with reasonable standards for dress has a positive effect on the school district. Sweat pants and/or wind pants are not allowedMACHINERY AND EQUIPMENT:
Automatic scrubbers, wet and dry vacuum, buffer, power tools, hand tools, wet/dry mopPosition requires the ability to work flexible hours or after hours as needed for emergency calls. Must be able to work during inclement weather.WORKPLACE EXPECTATIONS:
  • Must demonstrate regular and punctual attendance. Must interact positively with administration, students, staff, parents, and community members.
  • Must demonstrate professionalism and appropriate judgment in behavior & speech and dress in a neat, clean, and professional manner.
  • Must follow all District policies, work procedures and reasonable requests by proper authority.
  • Must maintain the integrity of confidential information within the Business Office.
  • Follow established protocols as outlined in Student/Faculty/Support Staff handbook
