Job Overview:
Reputable medical transport Servies is seeking a certified A&P Mechanic with 2+ years of experience to support its life-saving air ambulance operations. This role ensures the safety, reliability, and readiness of helicopters and fixed-wing aircraft used in emergency medical transport.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance, inspections, and repairs on aircraft systems and components
- Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical discrepancies
- Maintain accurate aircraft maintenance records and logbook entries in compliance with FAA and PHI Health standards
- Utilize RAMCO software for tracking maintenance tasks, parts usage, and aircraft status
- Conduct pre- and post-flight inspections to ensure operational readiness
- Coordinate with Lead Mechanic and AMBS to prioritize and complete maintenance tasks efficiently
- Monitor and manage parts inventory, requisition supplies, and maintain tool calibration schedules
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and participate in safety audits and training
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior mechanics or apprentices when applicable
- Participate in on-call rotations and respond to AOG (Aircraft on Ground) situations
- Travel between bases and support field operations as needed
Functional Capacity Exam (FCE): Must demonstrate strength and flexibility, including the ability to lift up to 100 lbs
Pre-employment Drug Screening & Background Check: Required for all candidates
Technical Assessment: May include a written or hands-on evaluation of mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting skills
Computer Proficiency: Ability to use maintenance tracking systems and digital documentation tools
Communication Skills: Must be able to clearly document findings and collaborate with team members
Schedule:
7 days on / 7 days off
Must reside within 60 miles or a 1-hour drive from the assigned base
Preferred Skills (for Roving Maintenance Team):
- Sheet metal repair and fabrication
- Avionics troubleshooting and repair
- Flexibility to travel on short notice and work night shifts
