- Work closely with Engineering (Design, Process, and Manufacturing), Quality, R&D, AMP, EHS, and Commercial to bring the new product from initial design, through prototype development and into full production.
- Building of initial prototypes and defining optimized processes for future production builds.
- Participate and contribute in the process development for NPI to deliver high impact, high visibility, NPI programs.
- Generate internal project charters and timelines for each approved project.
- Define necessary deliverables, schedules, costs, and needs, for multiple ongoing projects, ensuring that products are appropriately planned and executed such that goals, objectives, timelines, and budgets are met in accordance with program and organizational roadmaps.
- Communicate project status and escalate issues to direct managers, program managers, and internal and external development partners.
- Support the relationships with both internal and external partners and suppliers, including setting expectations regarding deliverables, product quality, schedules, and costs.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction opportunities and share them within the organization.
- Responsible for validation and characterization of new/current equipment and fixtures for introduction to the production floor.
- Provide expertise in the areas of safety and ergonomic improvements to production equipment which meets or exceeds regulations or best practices.
- Participate in the collaboration with external equipment suppliers on equipment design and improvement.
- Work with Global Engineering (Controls SME) to review controls design logic and validate functionality and safety.
- Support the development of detailed Manufacturing Job Instructions to define new processes and document new equipment operation.
- Contribute to the development of preventive maintenance procedures and a comprehensive spares list and get buy-off from the plant that all critical spares are identified and purchased prior to equipment put.
- Train technicians and line operators on manufacturing processes.

- Deep understanding of process development techniques using statistical analysis.
- Functional understanding of stage gate processes.
- Advanced business acumen, technical knowledge, and extensive knowledge in applications and technologies.
- Strong multi-tasking and prioritization skills.
- Demonstrated experience ramping equipment into manufacturing - automation equipment, design of electromechanical systems, PLCs, motion controls, and data capture.
- Proficiency designing mechanical equipment, fixture, and tooling in CAD (SolidWorks, Catia is a plus).
- Demonstrate experience in creating/validating layouts, tooling drawings, pneumatic and electrical schematics.
- Preferred experience with robot programming and Vision systems.
- Preferred experience with semi-automated/automated manufacturing equipment.
- Good understanding of the company's policies and processes.
- BS/MS Mechanical, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent).
- 5+ years of experience as a hands-on mechanical/manufacturing Engineer working on automation and/or solving electromechanical systems and software systems.
- 5-+ years of experience with Product/Process Development - working with a multi-disciplined manufacturing team (Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain, Safety and frontline manufacturing employees).
- Project management skills are required.
