
Senior Associate, Tax

- Key fundamental skill sets for this role will be:
- Prepare supporting workpapers and review quarterly and annual income tax provision calculations, including computation of book-to-tax differences
- Oversee and prepare Sales & Use Tax returns and Personal Property Tax returns
- Manage and monitor the tax calendar to ensure timely compliance with all federal, state, and local filing obligations
- Prepare supporting workpapers for income tax filings prepared by external tax advisors
- Lead and support Federal/State tax audits, including drafting responses and coordinating with auditors
- Assist in the implementation and maintenance of tax process and technology improvements, ensuring best practices are followed
- Research, register, and maintain business license registrations, ensuring compliance with applicable regulations
- Manage company and vendor sales tax exemption certificates, providing guidance on application and documentation
- Support and lead ad hoc tax projects as required
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior staff to support their professional development
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting required
- CPA or advanced degree strongly preferred
- 3+ years of experience in public accounting or corporate tax, with a focus on income tax and indirect tax compliance
- Big 4 or Regional Public Accounting experience strongly preferred
- In-depth knowledge of US GAAP and federal and state taxation principles

- Strong research skills with ability to form well-supported opinions/interpretations on accounting and tax standards
- Advanced proficiency in spreadsheets, databases, MS Office, and financial/tax software applications
- Excellent presentation, reporting, and communication skills, with ability to explain complex tax matters clearly to stakeholders
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- High level of ethics, integrity, judgment, and confidentiality
