Hours: Minimum 40 Hours/WeekRole:
- Develop and maintain 3D CAD model with associated 2D drawings (NX/TC) and release into PLM system (product lifecycle management).
- Support multiple architectural exploration by developing quick 3D CAD models for side-by-side comparison and work cross-functionally to form first-pass assessment of risks.
- Partner with oversea vendors to design and develop mechanical components/assemblies.
- Analyze design proposals and specifications to determine time and cost feasibility to complete projects.
- Analyze build data to drive improvement plans.
- Drive failure analysis and identify root cause / corrective actions.
- 5 (five) years of mechanical engineering experience in consumer electronics / mass production.
- Knowledge and experience of CAD software NX, both modeling and drawing.
- Ability to make and interpret engineering drawings and GD&T.
- Knowledge of part / process control (CPK, FAI, GR&R, tolerance analysis).
- Experience working with at least one of: injection molding, flex, module assembly.
- Prior experience working with overseas vendors and working through DFM / DFA preferred.
- Prior experience working with optics, e.g. cameras or small modules in consumer electronics (such as phones, wearables, etc.)
- Verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem solving ability.
- Team player and detail oriented.
- Work on engineering and research assignments with F500 companies and startups.
