- Appropriate State of Ohio Administrative License -- SBOE Principal, Supervisor, or Superintendent and Special Education License (preferred)
- Master’s degree in Education, Special Education and/or Educational Administration
- Experience in teaching, administration and special education.
- Excellent skills in communication, team work, and ability to work autonomously
- Expertise in all aspects of Special Education, IDEIA, IEPS, ETRS, and intervention
- Trained on ODEW’s OTES/eTPES/Ohio Evaluation System
- Excellent attendance record in previous positions
To substantially and effectively assist District in task of providing leadership and guidance in special education programs and services. Administers, coordinates, plans, supervises, and evaluates special education-related activities as assigned while working in the District.General Responsibilities and Essential Functions:
- Coordinates the organization/operation of District’s special education programs in conjunction with administrators, school psychologists, teachers, GCESC staff, local agencies, transportation depts.—as is necessary for each situation.
- Chairs IEP meetings /serves as District representative for IEP/ETR meetings as deemed necessary by District
- Schedules times for IEP completion, annual review and placement meetings.
- Provides counsel/assistance to teachers/therapists in assessment &writing IEPs.
- Maintains management system for all special education students.on caseload (i.e. identification, evaluation, IEP development, placement and periodic review of children with disabilities)
- Maintains communication and adequate records for the Districts/programs
- Participates in the evaluation of personnel as assigned by District
- Assists in implementation of school policies/procedures relating to federal/ state laws for special education.
- Serves as a consultant to administration/staff in regard to spec. education matters as deemed appropriate by the district
- Maintains an acceptable attendance record and is punctual.
- Remains free from any alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substance in workplace throughout employment
