Duration: 6 MonthsJob SummaryWe are seeking a Business Analyst to join a Medicaid Management Information System (MMIS) team. The BA will support provider reimbursement and prior authorization functional areas, contributing to development, testing, and implementation of projects and enhancements that improve services for the Medicaid member community. The ideal candidate will have experience in Medicaid systems, claims processing, and business knowledge of state Medicaid programs. This role requires a strong understanding of healthcare operations, the systems development lifecycle (SDLC), and regulatory compliance.Key ResponsibilitiesLead and participate in joint application design sessions with stakeholders.Document business requirements and support their development and testing.Develop test strategies, test scenarios, and test cases; execute and review test runs, and sign off on testing components.Support the creation of end-user documentation and training materials.Assist with stabilization phases of releases, including monitoring changes, developing "fix" strategies, and tracking implementations.Collaborate with vendors to ensure business requirements are fully defined and tested.Communicate updates and changes to impacted stakeholders.Represent the MMIS team in business meetings as needed.Provide support to program staff, vendors, and stakeholders with MMIS-related questions or concerns.Perform data queries and analysis.Provide backup support to other business analysts as required.Preferred QualificationsProficiency in business analysis throughout the full system development lifecycle.Knowledge of SDLC and Agile methodologies.Competency in HIPAA claims and payment transaction processing.Strong data analysis skills; proficiency in SQL required.Excellent communication, documentation, and interpersonal skills.Ability to work independently and within cross-functional teams.Strong analytical skills with the ability to document findings and recommend solutions.Education & CertificationsBachelor’s degree or higher in Business, IT, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.Minimum of 3 years’ experience in healthcare administration, IT, or a related setting (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
