
Test Engineer - Level II

- The Test Engineer will have opportunities to interface with senior level customers, warfighters, and leadership while performing the following functions:
- Plan and manage assignments, progress, and evaluate results.
- Conduct integration and test activities of application software on multiple platforms that include embedded and commercial Linux Devices, Android smartphones, and virtual machines.
- Create, document, and maintain test bench networks that simulate real-world scenarios across multiple hardware types and networks, including Ethernet, WiFi, and tactical radios.
- Develop detailed Software Test Plans and prepare Test Reports.
- Participate in software design and development meetings.
- Analyze and identify system level integration issues and resolve issues and dependencies in a team environment.
- Conduct detailed interaction and follow through actions with development teams for issues and requirements
- Conduct testing on software builds and report functionality and interface issues.
- Perform message interoperability testing between various software products and troubleshoot network traffic.
- Perform initial troubleshooting and classification/characterization of defect findings, then enabling software development teams to investigate/fix further.
- Ensure software builds represent military tactics, techniques, and procedures.
- Evaluate test data, assess risks, and develop test result summaries for leadership briefings, Suitability Statements and Milestone Decisions.
- Ensure all Government test planning documents are uploaded to the appropriate databases.
- Interface with customers, vendors, and various stakeholders to identify and resolve problems that cause failures.

- Due to the sensitive nature of the work being performed, a candidate must possess or be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
- High School diploma and 10 years' experience, or Associates' Degree and 7 years' experience or Bachelor's degree and 1 years' experience.
- Lab and hands-on Debugging Exposure.
- Familiarity with generating change requests/trouble tickets within enterprise software ticket tracking systems
- Basic knowledge of computer networks setup/troubleshooting
- Ability to support occasional travel.
- Experience with one or more of the following development tools/environments is desired: Linux Shell/Bash Scripting, tactical message traffic simulators, Android SDK, and SQLite.
- Domain experience in geospatial systems (i.e., moving map display), tactical networking, GPS devices, tactical messaging, and/or mission planning solutions desired.
- Experience with Linux command-line interfaces, Android OS, and mobile applications.
- Knowledge and experience with Mission Command and Control Software to include Mounted Mission Command (MMC), Precision Fires Dismounted/Mounted (PF-D/M), Nett Warrior (NW), Joint Battle Command Platform (JBC-P), ATAK, Mounted Computing Environment (MCE), Advanced Field Artillery Tactical Data System (AFATDS), Command Post Computing Environment (CPCE), Blue Force Tracker (BFT), GPS, Geospatial, Military communications.
- Experience working in DevOps/Test-Fix-Test environments
- Experience working with Git, GitLab, and related DevOps software products
- Knowledge of software ticket-writing best practices, and experience capturing/presenting logs and supporting data
- Experience setting up/re-configuring test benches/networks to replicate real-world environments
- Ability to re-create problem scenarios from trouble tickets to verify/validate software fixes
- Strong team player with ability to collaborate, adapt, and contribute in a highly dynamic environment.
