# of Openings: 1Patient Benefit Advisor - Full-Time | Revenue Cycle DepartmentPay Range: Based on experience and qualificationsOverview:Granger Medical Clinic has an immediate opening for an experienced full-time Patient Benefit Advisor (PBA) in our Revenue Cycle department. This position reports directly to the Revenue Cycle Operations Manager and plays a vital role in supporting the Revenue Cycle team. The PBA is responsible for verifying and obtaining insurance authorizations, collecting payments for upcoming procedures, and setting up payment plans. They also assist Patient Service Representatives and providers with patient inquiries.In addition, the PBA conducts interviews with patients and families experiencing financial hardship and initiates financial assistance applications when appropriate. This role requires a high level of professionalism, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing compassionate support to patients navigating their financial responsibilities.Key Responsibilities:
- Verify insurance eligibility and obtain authorizations using available technologies, payor websites, or phone contact with third-party payors.
- Review benefits information with patients and discuss financial obligations prior to procedures or surgeries.
- Collect payments and establish payment plans for patients requiring financial assistance.
- Respond to a high volume of patient inquiries regarding billing and insurance issues.
- Support Patient Service Representatives with scheduling, check-in, and payment systems.
- Monitor patient accounts, prepare bills, and ensure providers are paid in a timely manner.
- Alert management to recurring billing trends or issues and assist in developing solutions.
- Maintain strong working relationships with internal departments and external contacts.
- Perform other duties as requested.
- Minimum 2 years of experience in clinical operations.
- Minimum 2 years of experience as a financial counselor or patient benefit advisor.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Strong collaboration and problem-solving skills.
- Sedentary work; occasional lifting up to 10 lbs.
