Serves as a screener in IASC districts. Early Childhood screening is required for all students prior to entering Kindergarten. Early Childhood screenings will be scheuled for the year by July and staff can sign up for the screenings they can work.Specifications:Position will be hourly: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
There will be a financial benefit to working in multiple districts.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for providing early childhood screening of children ages 3, 4 and 5 in IASC communities
  • Training will be provided on the components of an early childhood screening including developmental assessments, hearing and vision screening, immunization review, height and weight, identification of risk factors that may influence learning, meeting with the parent, referral for assessment and entering completed screening into the student information system
  • Attend trainings as needed
  • Assemble packet of information for parent to complete prior to screening
  • Conduct all components of early childhood screening that are delegated to you
  • Facilitate meeting with parent to discuss results of early childhood screening
  • Submitting a referral or scheduling a rescreen when appropriate
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Qualification Requirements:An early childhood screening must be conducted by either an individual who is licensed as, or has training that is similar to a special education teacher, school psychologist, kindergarten teacher, prekindergarten teacher, school nurse, public health nurse, registered nurse or physician.Education and/or Experience:
  • No previous screening experience required
  • ?Must be willing to be trained and learn new information or changes to information
  • Must be detail-oriented, organized, and able to problem solve
  • Ability to work independently and with groups
  • Must be able to work and build positive relationships with staff of varying abilities and experience
  • Experience with conflict resolution
  • Experience and comfortable communicating using Google (Email, Drive, and Calendar) along with virtual meeting platforms
Other skills and abilities:
  • Ability to maintain composure under stressful conditions.
  • Ability to develop effective working relationships with students, staff, and the school community.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements

  • Keyboarding-repetitive motion
