Position Overview:
The Assistant Accounting Manager will oversee all accounting functions, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records. This role requires a deep understanding of accounting principles as they apply specifically to the manufacturing sector. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, attention to detail, and the ability to streamline processes while maintaining compliance with regulations.Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage and oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger functions.
  • Prepare and analyze financial statements, reports, and forecasts to support management decision-making.
  • Ensure accurate costing of products and manage inventory valuation in collaboration with production teams.
  • Implement and monitor internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulations.
  • Lead month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
  • Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits and ensure compliance with financial regulations.
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to accounting staff, fostering professional growth and development.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with at least 1 year in an accounting role within the manufacturing industry.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, or Oracle) and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Proven ability to analyze financial data and identify trends and potential issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law in geographies that require salary range disclosure, Vaco notes the salary range for the role as follows: $95-115k. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company’s 401(k) retirement plan.
