- Manages the execution of a comprehensive communications and marketing strategy for the division, which addresses multiple audiences ranging from the general public to members and donors to educators and planetariums/museums.
- Oversees advertising contracts and ensures the timely submission of artwork to vendors, as well as the management of the Division’s website, publications, social media, blog, and other distributed materials.
- Supervises the Marketing Associate and Public Relations Coordinator positions, which includes hiring, orienting, training, assigning and reviewing work performance, annual work performance appraisal, and discipline.
- Researches and identifies new government, corporate, foundation, and private funding prospects.
- Writes, edits and formats grants, proposals, reports, and other funding correspondence.
- Works with key staff to develop and assess ideas for fundable proposals.
- Ensures compliance with all grant fulfillments and reporting as required by donor organization.
- Guides the collection of data and maintains relationship management database.
- Serves as the liaison to program officers, and community partners and organizations.
- Leads the planning of the annual gala and other fundraising events. Solicits sponsorships and in-kind donations to support fundraising events.
- Oversees the strategic promotion of the Division’s membership program, cultivating new and renewing members, including growing the philanthropic level members.
- Manages advisory board meeting and planning logistics. Prepares minutes for advisory board.
