Our iron-rich cathodes are industry proven drivers of EV, ESS, and consumer electronics applications, and our team of industry leaders is developing a robust supply chain and manufacturing pipeline to deliver Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) qualified cathodes to our customers.We have set up a state-of-the-art 15,000 sq ft industrial R&D center in Mountain View, CA. Join our team and be a part of the growing battery revolution.We are looking for a Process Chemical Engineer to optimize cathode manufacturing and to bring a process-focused lens to all scales of development.Responsibilities:
  • Develop and test physical and data-driven models to translate R&D scale syntheses of cathodes to pilot scale.
  • Work closely and collaboratively with scientists to ensure the processes developed are scalable and robust.
  • Design and source equipment at a range of scales for all relevant processes including reaction, mixing, heating, milling and coating.
  • Guide process improvement at R&D and pilot scale using cost models.
  • Use design of experiments and statistical process control to test various manufacturing methods and integrate that knowledge with R&D learnings.
Qualifications:
  • Prior experience as a process engineer, focused on bringing R&D work to pilot scale. Background in batteries materials or manufacturing is a plus.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit, scrappiness and ability to interact with other functions in a cross-disciplinary environment.
  • Demonstrated interest or experience with statistical analysis, statistical process control and experimental design.
  • Demonstrated interest in process modeling and simulation with Python or any commercial software, such as Aspen, MATLAB, Comsol and others.

The following represents the expected range of compensation for this role:
  • The estimated base salary range for this role is $92,000-$136,000.
  • Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in a bonus and equity plan.
