ACTIVITY – Estimating Time Allocation: ~ 75%
- Review and analyze construction drawings, specifications, and project documents for medical and industrial projects.
- Prepare detailed cost estimates, takeoffs, and bid proposals for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractors.
- Prepare estimates at different levels of completion (i.e., conceptual, schematic, design development, construction drawings, etc.).
- Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate vendor and subcontractor quotes to ensure competitive pricing.
- Collaborate with design team, project managers, engineers, architects, physicists and clients to develop accurate and cost-effective budgets.
- Identify value engineering opportunities to optimize costs without sacrificing quality or safety.
- Track project budgets and maintain a historical database of commercial construction costs.
- Stay current on market trends, construction materials, labor rates, and industry regulations.
- Present final bids and estimates to leadership and participate in client bid reviews.
- Exceed customer expectations with prompt detailed responses as required when potential winning bids are being reviewed/descoped.
- Understand the features and benefits of all products and solution offerings, and how to communicate to all levels.
- Review quotes and estimates with the sales, design team, physicist and project team.
- Maintain a positive relationship with customers, vendors, and subcontractors.
- Responsible for developing leadership, motivation, and communication with owners, subs and project team.
- Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction, while promoting communication and resolution of customer issues.
- Attend and participate in weekly meetings.
- Support cross functional team initiatives.
- Consistent execution of policies and procedures through adequate control measures.
- Serve as brand ambassador of Veritas.
- Participate in Veritas CARES events when possible.
- Balance team and individual responsibilities; give and welcome feedback, contribute to building positive team spirit; put success of team above own interests.
- Willingness to perform any and all duties as assigned by leadership to support the team; respectful attitude and professional approach to leadership decisions.

- Minimum of 2 years of Commercial Construction, Project Management cost estimating experience required.
- Degree in Construction Technology, Business or other related field preferred or the comparable equivalent of education and work experience.
- Knowledge of construction methods, cost estimating, and engineering principles; ability to interpret drawings, specifications and contracts.
- Experience working on million-dollar, multi-disciplinary projects in medical, industrial or manufacturing spaces.
- Proficient in MS Office applications with strong skills in Excel, Word, MS Project; experience with estimating software and CRM systems a plus, preferably HubSpot.
- Strong leadership skills, positive attitude and a servant leadership mindset.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills with attention to detail; ability to be innovative and creative in problem solving with a focus on achieving results.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills; able to establish and maintain excellent relationships and credibility quickly; ability to communicate effectively and tactfully (written and oral) with customers and stakeholders at all levels.
