Fully Cleared Linux System AdministratorThe Linux System Administrator is responsible for providing support and maintenance to IT systems, including day-to-day operations, monitoring, and problem resolution for all client/server, storage, network devices, and mobile devices. This position requires compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) 8570 standards for Information Assurance Technical (IAT), Level I or higher. The Linux System Administrator will be the first point of contact for Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution.In this role, you will collaborate with a team of IT professionals to ensure the smooth and efficient operation of Linux systems. You will be responsible for configuring, maintaining, and troubleshooting Linux-based servers and systems, while ensuring their security and integrity.   • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • DoD 8570 compliance with Information Assurance Technical (IAT), Level I or higher.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience as a Linux System Administrator.
  • Proficient in Linux server administration, including installation, configuration, and maintenance.
  • Strong knowledge of networking protocols, TCP/IP, and routing.
  • Experience with virtualization technologies, such as VMware or KVM.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages, such as Bash or Python.
  • Knowledge of security best practices and experience implementing security measures in Linux environments.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues in a timely manner.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Responsibilities
  • Provide day-to-day operational support for Linux-based servers and systems.
  • Perform server installation, configuration, and maintenance tasks, ensuring system reliability and performance.
  • Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement solutions to optimize performance.
  • Maintain system security by implementing and enforcing security measures, policies, and procedures.
  • Assist in the planning and implementation of system upgrades and enhancements.
  • Collaborate with other IT professionals to resolve complex issues and ensure the smooth operation of the IT infrastructure.
  • Provide Tier 1 (Help Desk) and Tier 2 (Escalation) support for problem identification, diagnosis, and resolution.
  • Document system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting steps to ensure knowledge sharing and continuity.
  • Perform regular backups of critical data and ensure disaster recovery capabilities.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest industry trends and technologies to continuously enhance your skills and contribute to the improvement of IT systems.
