
Senior Construction Project Manager – Technical Lab Build-Outs

- Lead end-to-end delivery of lab construction projects, from planning and design through execution and close-out.
- Coordinate with client stakeholders, design teams, and contractors to ensure alignment on scope, schedule, and budget.
- Oversee installation of high-density server racks, cooling systems, and other MEP-intensive infrastructure.
- Facilitate weekly site walks and progress meetings to monitor construction activities and resolve field issues.
- Ensure all work complies with client standards for lab safety, layout, and operational readiness.
- Support procurement, change management, and cost tracking in collaboration with project controls and cost management teams.
- Manage vendor relationships for specialized equipment and lab installations.
- Coordinate with facilities teams to ensure lab infrastructure integrates seamlessly with existing building systems.
- Support commissioning and turnover of lab spaces, including punch list resolution and documentation.
- Provide regular updates and reporting to internal and client leadership.
- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, tracking milestones and dependencies to ensure timely delivery.
- Review and approve submittals, RFIs, and change orders in alignment with project goals and client standards.
- Monitor contractor performance and ensure adherence to project specifications and quality standards.
- Support budgeting and cost control efforts, identifying potential savings and value engineering opportunities.
- Ensure timely close-out documentation, including O&M manuals, warranties, and final reports.
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- PMP or similar project management certification is a plus.
- 8+ years of experience in construction project management, ideally with lab, R&D, or high-tech room build-out experience.
- Skilled in interpreting technical drawings and specifications related to lab infrastructure.
- Strong understanding of HVAC and cooling systems used in high-density equipment environments.
- Experience managing MEP-heavy projects and coordinating technical infrastructure.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and manage multiple stakeholders.
- Familiarity with electronics labs, dry labs, or device testing environments.
- Experience working with large tech clients or in fast-paced, innovation-driven environments.
- Familiarity with permitting processes and local building codes in the Bay Area.
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and prioritize effectively under tight deadlines.
- Experience supporting commissioning and turnover of technical spaces.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in documentation and reporting.
