- Performs and documents the history and physical exam, gathers data from the medical record, reviews outside medical records, communicates with referring providers, and develops and implements the plan of care.
- Monitors and documents the progress of each patient, revises plan of care as needed, interprets and monitors test results. Identifies and appropriately intervenes with problems that require specialty referral or escalation to a higher level of care.
- Acts as a consultant and presents current educational programs to requesting community groups, organizations, or individuals.
- Contributes to the education and research mission of the organization through participation in research or quality improvement projects, presentations, professional organizations, precepting, and other scholarly activities.
- Functions as a role model and encourages professional behaviors in dealing with patients, families, significant others, and other members of the multidisciplinary team.
- Represents advanced practice, Department, or Division on appropriate organizational committees.
- Abides by applicable National Jewish policies, and complies with all laws, rules, and regulations concerning advanced practice, including but not limited to Colorado Medical Board, Joint Commission Medicare and Medicaid rules and regulations.
- Maintains current license, board certification, BLS and/or ACLS or PALS certification appropriate to clinical responsibilities and stays up to date with changes in regulations.
