We are currently looking for a 3rd shift operator to join our client's growing team. This role is responsible for the daily setup and operation of Turret Punch Press in a just-in-time fabrication shop. Candidate may be required to assist other operators as a helper on key work or machines as required. This is a cross functional position within the Fabrication department.ESSENTIAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES & AUTHORITIES
  • Will be required to meet safety, quality and productivity goals for each job.
  • Responsible to keep safety above all else when operating equipment.
  • Efficiently set up and operate CNC Punch Press to produce quality product in a safe manner.
  • Produce parts per customer drawings and specifications.
  • Run complex set ups and punching operations. This includes custom punch/die modification used in combination with other tooling (either standard or custom).
  • Work with material handler to make sure material for each job is staged in proper locations for maximum efficiency.
  • Work with management to identify areas of process improvement, cost and waste reduction.
  • May be required to participate in training additional operators.
Required Education, Experience, Certification, Licenses, Registration:
  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 2 years set up and operating experience on a CNC Turret Punch Press.
  • Previous Laser experience a plus.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Must be able to read a tape measure, micrometers, calipers, blue prints, interpret tolerances and pay attention to detail.
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to read, comprehend and follow work order instructions.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Experienced in loading and unloading tools and operating the machine controls (CNC).
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Mathematical aptitude.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Must have a full understanding of print reading.
  • Have knowledge of basic CNC control codes and the ability to review and edit.
  • Familiar with modern manufacturing techniques and materials.
