The Senior Director, Transportation and Fulfillment Technology provides strategic technology leadership to transform Macy's transportation, inventory visibility, and omni-channel fulfillment capabilities. This role drives the development and implementation of innovative solutions, including Transportation Management Systems (TMS), to support seamless and scalable supply chain operations. The position partners closely with cross-functional teams to align technology with business goals and deliver measurable impact.What You Will Do:
- Drive strategic vision and execution for transportation and fulfillment technology initiatives.
- Collaborate with business and technology partners to identify opportunities that improve sales, margin, and operational efficiency.
- Lead the development and integration of Transportation Management Systems and related fulfillment technologies.
- Oversee multiple major projects, ensuring timely delivery and optimal resource allocation.
- Manage application usability, reliability, and quality across current and future platforms.
- Monitor industry trends to inform technology strategy and innovation.
- Coordinate with internal teams to leverage reusable services and middleware connectivity.
- Plan and manage expense and capital budgets effectively.
- Build and lead a high-performing team through coaching, development, and performance management.
- Ensure organizational structure supports strategic goals and is efficiently staffed.
- Holds a BA/BS in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field; Master's Degree or MBA preferred.
- Brings 15+ years of experience in software engineering and large-scale transformation in retail environments.
- Demonstrates executive presence and experience managing complex technology portfolios.
- Skilled in managing budgets in the tens of millions and leading distributed teams.
- Experienced in cloud technologies and legacy system migrations.
- Communicates effectively across technical and non-technical audiences.
- Operates with a strategic mindset while maintaining attention to detail.
- Builds trust and alignment across diverse stakeholders.
- Motivates and empowers teams through inclusive leadership.
- Regularly required to sit, talk, hear; use hands/fingers to touch, handle, and feel. Occasionally required to move about the workplace and reach with hands and arms. Requires close vision.
