
Firestopping Inspector, Experienced

- Implement internal firestop policies/procedures and technical processes, including the review of Life Safety Drawings, specifications, firestopping submittals, UL systems, and special inspection reports.
- Maintain relationship and background knowledge of the current code and firestopping requirements with building officials, state officials, accreditation and auditing agencies and apply it to the business plan for this service area.
- Manage client and vendor relationships
- Prepares reports and other work related documents in a timely and accurate manner

- High School diploma or equivalent
- Minimum two years’ experience performing firestopping inspections
- Must have International Firestop Council Inspectors certificate, or FM or UL (DRI) test passed with an 80% or higher or be capable of passing one within 30 days.
- Knowledge and experience of the inspection and reporting process as defined by the IBC
- Familiarity with the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM)
- Experience with firestop systems and fire assembly ratings
- Familiar with reporting tools used in this industry
- Experience with construction joints firestopping, penetration firestopping, curtainwall firestopping, and UL assemblies
- Experience training and supervising technicians
- Preparing reports and other work related documents
- Project management
