This position is a full time (1.0 Status), day shift in the Patient Accounts Department.
The Patient Account Representative handles all communication involving accounts receivable. Actively engages in reconciling of patient and insurance company concerns. Requires timely and accurate billing of professional and facility claims. This is a first line contact position for both patients and insurance companies. Will insure that their actions reflect the mission, vision, and values of Community Medical Center/Community Physician Group.
Minimum Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent. Five (5) years experience with health insurance. Must have basic knowledge of accounting practices. Must excel in a busy and stressful office setting. Possess independent decision making skills. Must be proficient with computer systems and associates software. Good organizational skills, written and verbal communication skills, and medical terminology. Must be proficient with computer systems and associates software. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and 10 key touch. Associates Degree/two (2) years of college preferred.
Preferred/Desired: Prefer experience with billing, collection and customer service. Knowledge of Medicare regulations and policies, basic understanding of CPT, ICD-9 and ability to type 45 wpm preferred.
This position is subject to Drug and Alcohol testing according to MT Law 39-2-205--39-2-211.
