
GOVERNMENT OPERATIONS CONSULTANT III-SES

- Monday–Friday, 8 hours per day during standard business hours
- On-site work only (no telecommuting)
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university (as recognized by the U.S. Department of Education)
- At least three years of full-time, professional-level experience in health and human services
- At least three years of management experience in a health and human services or government agency
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with leadership
- At least three years full-time working knowledge with Department contracts
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office software including Word, Excel, SharePoint and Smartsheet
- Lead the design, implementation, evaluation, and improvement of statewide contract monitoring approaches, including annual risk assessments, scheduling, pre-site planning, on-site reviews, and reporting
- Ensure provider compliance with contract terms, laws, rules, regulations, and policies
- Develop and use monitoring tools to assess provider performance
- Conduct interviews, observe facilities, and review documents, reports, and records
- Prepare monitoring reports and correspondence that meet content and style standards
- Supervise and direct contract review specialists
- Provide training, coaching, and mentoring to develop staff competence
- Plan, assign, and evaluate work to ensure quality and compliance
- Manage resources effectively, including budget oversight and staffing needs
- Gather and analyze data from Department and provider sources, including automated systems
- Compare requirements with provider performance to draw conclusions and recommend actions
- Maintain accurate, organized, and complete monitoring documentation in line with standards and retention requirements
- Conduct entrance and exit conferences with providers and Department staff
- Build and maintain positive, respectful working relationships with colleagues and providers
- Collaborate with stakeholders to address issues and improve processes
- Statewide travel, including overnight trips, is required as scheduled
- Valid driver’s license from your state of residency (must be maintained as a condition of employment)
- Willingness to use a personal vehicle for work-related travel if needed
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds
