
Immigration Attorney /Immigration Specialist (DOJ Accredited Representative)

- Immigration Legal Counsel and Representation
- Legally screen and advise individuals regarding immigration benefits and remedies available under the INA, CFR, and relevant government agency policies
- Provide direct immigration legal representation in front of USCIS, EOIR, and BIA.
- Represent clients in person at USCIS adjudication interviews and EOIR and BIA hearings
- Zealously advocate for clients with relevant government actors via telephone and correspondence
- Manage a case load of pending immigration cases
- Comply with WR SoCal ILS best practice case management rules, policies and procedures and legal ethics under the supervision of the ILS Program Manager
- Work in a team and collaborate with other WR SoCal team members to provide immigration legal services to the community
- Occasionally weekend and evening events may be required
- Other duties as assigned by supervisor
- Immigration Legal Training
- Actively engage in ongoing immigration legal training, conferences, webinars, roundtables, and research in order to maintain the necessary knowledge and experience
- Case management training on LawLogix as well as the case management protocols of the ILS department of World Relief
- Participate in routine ILS and Staff meetings
- Community Speaking Engagements/Networking/Forums
- Support the ILS Program Manager in providing Immigration 101 trainings, Know Your Rights, Asylum 101, and other related presentation and trainings to key community partners and/or immigrant communities
- Participate in practitioner forums as assigned by the ILS Program Manager
- Actively communicate with other WR SoCal departments for the furtherment of WR services
- Mature and personal Christian faith

- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in an adjudicatory setting and in writing
- Bachelor's degree required
- Active bar license and commitment to attending CLE training and maintaining good standing with the State Bar
- A minimum of 1 year in Immigration Legal Services experience, having previous experience as an Immigration Attorney, DOJ Accredited Representative, immigration paralegal or legal assistant
- Proficient in MS Office programs
- Database entry skills
- Valid driver's license and/or access to alternative means of transportation and active insurance policy
- Bilingual fluency in Dari, Farsi, Pashto, Arabic, desired
- Master's degree preferred
- Committed to developing and investing in a strong ILS team speaking and writing skills preferred
- Research skills
- Minimum of 3-5 years' experience in immigration law preferred
