As a tech-forward institution, we leverage platforms like Salesforce to reimagine how students engage with higher education—from recruitment through alumni success.This is a hybrid role based in Salt Lake City, UT, requiring 4 days per week onsite and 1 day remote.Essential Functions and ResponsibilitiesStrategic LeadershipOwn and evolve WGU’s Salesforce platform strategy, ensuring alignment with our digital transformation roadmap.Identify opportunities for platform innovation that drive efficiency, scalability, and student success.Team ManagementManage and mentor a team of 15 (7 admins, 8 developers), fostering high performance, collaboration, and continuous growth.Lead execution of high-impact projects like Forms Assembly migration and the Next Generation Learning Experience (NGLX).Salesforce Architecture & OptimizationOversee the implementation and optimization of Salesforce solutions, including Education Cloud, Marketing Cloud, and Experience Cloud.Ensure robust integrations with SIS, LMS, and third-party tools such as Mulesoft and Informatica.Uphold data governance, compliance, and platform security standards (e.g., FERPA).Cross-Functional CollaborationServe as a strategic partner to Product, Engineering, Enrollment, Student Services, and Advancement.Translate cross-departmental business needs into scalable technical solutions.Governance, Reporting & Continuous ImprovementEstablish frameworks for change management, user access, and data integrity.Support dashboard and report development to enable strategic decision-making across departments.Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesStrong architectural understanding of Salesforce and related tools.Proven ability to coach and grow engineering talent.Excellent communication skills across technical and non-technical teams.Confident navigating complex, cross-functional relationships in a matrixed environment.Strategic thinker and problem solver with a strong sense of ownership.QualificationsMinimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.10+ years of progressive experience in Salesforce application development and leadership, including:5+ years of experience leading technical teams5+ years of hands-on Salesforce development, architecture, or system administrationStrong proficiency in object-oriented programming (e.g., Java, RESTful APIs, XML).Experience with Oracle or SQL.Experience integrating third-party tools such as Mulesoft and Informatica.Preferred QualificationsMaster’s degree in a relevant field.Salesforce certifications (e.g., Admin, Platform Developer, Architect).Experience in higher education, edtech, or mission-driven environments.Familiarity with Education Cloud, Marketing Cloud, and Experience Cloud.# LI- VB1Position & Application DetailsFull-Time Regular Positions (classified as regular and working 40 standard weekly hours): This is a full-time, regular position (classified for 40 standard weekly hours) that is eligible for bonuses; medical, dental, vision, telehealth and mental healthcare; health savings account and flexible spending account; basic and voluntary life insurance; disability coverage; accident, critical illness and hospital indemnity supplemental coverages; legal and identity theft coverage; retirement savings plan; wellbeing program; discounted WGU tuition; and flexible paid time off for rest and relaxation with no need for accrual, flexible paid sick time with no need for accrual, 11 paid holidays, and other paid leaves, including up to 12 weeks of parental leave.How to Apply: If interested, an application will need to be submitted online.
