Salary: $50,000 + BenefitsThe Jewish Community Foundation of Greater MetroWest NJ (JCF) seeks a part-time, 19 hours a week, Director for the Jewish Women’s Foundation of New Jersey, a JCF Advisory Council Fund.
The Jewish Women’s Foundation of New Jersey (JWF-NJ) is a giving circle with just over $1 million in assets. The 75+ Trustees are dedicated to empowering women and girls in Northern and Central NJ through strategic grant making. Lay leaders are highly involved in all aspects of planning and decision-making.
JWF-NJ seeks a highly organized candidate for a part-time Director position to:
  • Manage the day-to-day operations and activities of JWF-NJ, acting on the advice and consent of the Trustees
  • Work with Trustees to plan and execute two annual grant cycles
  • Monitor ongoing grant projects to ensure that funds are being used as directed
  • Engage current membership and cultivate new Trustees alongside lay leaders
  • Assist lay leaders in keeping abreast of educational programming opportunities to bring to Trustees related to best practices in the field and current issues facing women/girls
  • Serve as administrator of JWF-NJ website and social media
  • Interact with JCF and Jewish Federation of Greater MetroWest NJ to keep entities abreast on JWF-NJ’s activities
  • Strengthen partnerships with JWF networks across the Country and build other key partnerships (e.g., Women’s Philanthropy, other donor advised funds, other giving circles)
Preferred qualifications and skills:
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Experience writing grants for a non-profit or reading grants for a foundation
  • Ability to be flexible to align with Trustees’ mission and collaborate with lay leaders
  • Effective project management
  • Understanding of the unique needs of women/girls, particularly those in underserved communities
  • Understanding of the Jewish community and Jewish values
  • Experience in group facilitation
  • Experience in recruiting and retaining members in a membership-style organization
  • Experience in increasing visibility of an organization to the public and building partnerships with key stakeholders
  • Experience in budgeting and other fiscal management operations
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office and/or Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides, Calendar, Meet, Drive)
  • Willingness and ability to learn new systems, including but not limited to: social media, foundation software, Wordpress
Flexible scheduling a plus, with the following requirements:
  • On-site in the office a minimum of 4 hours/week
  • Up to 6 evening or Sunday events (in-person) and up to 12 evening meetings (via Zoom)
  • Busy periods are expected in late October to mid-November, February to early March, and April to early May
  • Federal and Jewish holidays off
