This critical role will be responsible for designing, developing, and deploying IoT solutions across Lindsay’s product lines, including new connected devices and features. Additionally, this role will also be responsible for performing test driven development with regards to testing devices as well as simulating devices.Position DetailsThis is a full-time, salaried position that can be based in either our Omaha, NE or Olathe, KS offices and includes a highly competitive salary/benefits package based on the location of the position. Travel requirements will be minimal (<15%), but there may be some travel to various office locations and industry conferences.Duties & ResponsibilitiesAssists in designing, developing, testing, and delivering high quality web and mobile app solutions, including new products and featuresActs as a subject matter expert in IoT technologies, mentoring and guiding other engineers through deep knowledge of protocols, platforms, and toolsAssists in new IoT product development efforts, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver solutions on time and within scopeMaintains and enhances existing IoT systems and device firmware as assignedDevelops and configures device communication protocols and cloud integration according to business requirementsParticipates in design reviews, code reviews, and other quality assurance processesConducts thorough testing and debugging of IoT systems prior to deploymentTroubleshoots and resolves reported IoT issues efficiently and accuratelyCommunicates technical challenges and progress clearly to maintain sprint efficiencyPreferred QualificationsBachelor's degree in computer engineering, software engineering, or equivalent technical education or experience9+ years of relevant professional engineering experience, including 5+ years of delivering on IoT SolutionsStrong problem-solving skills, accountability, and a collaborative mindsetAbility to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment where constant iteration, improvement and innovation is key to the success of the teamClear and effective communication skills to prevent bottlenecks and support agile delivery Ability to clearly and rapidly communicate problems and solutions in order to prevent bottlenecks and facilitate the release processSolid understanding, experience, and ability to mentor others on the following: Web APIs, IoT device communication and protocols, Agile Scrum, GitDemonstrated proficiency and experience with the following languages, technologies, and tools is preferred:C#/.NETAngularIoT device communication protocols (MQTT, CoAP, HTTP, etc.)Web APIs and cloud integrationSQL database (i.e., PostgreSQL, Cockroach DB, etc.)NoSQL databases (i.e., Cassandra, MongoDB, etc.)Event streaming tools (e.g., Apache Kafka, RabbitMQ)Container orchestration (e.g., Docker, Azure Kubernetes Service)Has some aptitude in working with third-party devices (e.g., Raspberry Pi, Arduino)Has some experience working with Embedded systems and microcontroller programmingHas some experience with C/C++, Python
