
Mechanical Engineer (UAS Program)

- Perform mechanical design, integration, and hardware tracking for UAS platforms and associated payloads.
- Contribute to rapid prototyping, design, testing, and system documentation for UAS multirotor systems and ground support equipment.
- Edit and create mechanical engineering drawings and support mechanical design efforts.
- Apply engineering principles to support the design, fabrication, and testing of UAS platforms.
- Troubleshoot flight control, communication, and electrical system architectures of UAS and other products.
- Design electronics packaging and thermal management systems for prototype and flight hardware
- Collaborate with cross-disciplinary internal teams and external customers to provide mechanical and production support.
- Use SolidWorks and SolidWorks PDM for 3D design, modification, and configuration management of UAS-related hardware.
- Some physical demands may be present when working with prototypes and testing(under 50 pounds)
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
- 1-2 years of related work experience.
- Demonstrated project experience with 3D design (CAD) and 3D printing.
- Working knowledge of basic tools such as hand tools, soldering irons, and basic mechanical assembly techniques.
- Ability to obtain Secret clearance within 6 months of hire; US Citizenship required.
- Basic programming skills (MATLAB or Python)
- Previous experience with SolidWorks PDM for 3D Design, modification and management of UAS-related hardware
- Background in designing electronic packaging and thermal management systems for prototype and flight hardware
- Experience with troubleshooting flight control, communication and electrical system architecture of UAS and other products
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
- 1-2 years of related work experience.
