Join us in shaping a new era in space and find a career that's built for you.Lockheed Martin Space in Littleton, CO seeks an innovative and experienced Systems Architect to support the team that designs, develops, and assess system-of-system, mission level architectures for a variety of national security mission partners. These activities support programs, captures, studies, projects, campaigns, executive steering group, etc. at multiple security levels from unclassified, to SCI, SAP, and combined SCI/SAP. “Ahead of Ready” represents our purpose to work across business areas with a mission-oriented perspective to ensure those we serve always stay ahead of ready for the missions of today - and for the future.In this role, you will:
  • Understand mission context and assess impacts to mission outcomes based on changes to systems, threats, operational concepts, environments, and mission architectures
  • Design, develop, assess, and demonstrate integrated mission and system of system concepts, architectures, concept of operation, etc. for addressing identified mission gaps
  • Derive mission measures & metrics, reference mission threads and mission engineering threads for evaluation in Analysis of Alternative trade studies informing solution architectures, mission maturation roadmaps, technology investment decisions, requirements, etc.
  • Work in coordination with analysis and assessments counterparts to define and utilize digital engineering model representations of systems, and system of systems, using a variety of MBSE, visualization, and simulation tools such as Cameo, STK, AFSIM, Matlab/Python, etc.
  • Assimilate results into compelling written, verbal, and visual narratives that convey mission and business value, and anticipated potential questions, concerns, and/or biases of clients and stakeholders
  • Proactively collaborate with counterparts in other business areas / mission domains and corporate in the planning and execution of integrated mission solution
Our level 4 employees typically have 9-15 years of experience.Basic Qualifications- Bachelors degree in an Engineering or STEM discipline- 4+ years of experience supporting the planning and execution of identifying, defining, developing, assessing, and demonstrating integrated mission solution architectures spanning air, space, maritime, and land domains.- You will need to be a US Citizen, and able to possess and maintain a US DoD TOP SECRET/SCI and SAP clearances to support these government contracts, as well as successfully pass a drug and background check, in order to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified informationDesired skills- Active TS/SCI and SAP clearances highly preferred- Experience performing in a Systems Architect role on a large and complex DoD/IC integrated mission development efforts- Experience applying MBSE concepts in a Systems Engineer or Systems Architect role- Demonstrated experience communicating compelling written, verbal, and visual narratives that convey mission and business value to senior executivesTo promote the sharing of ideas, Lockheed Martin fosters a work environment that encourages big-picture thinking.
