Job Description:ControllerA client of ours is looking for an experienced Controller to oversee accounting operations, ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, and provide strategic financial insights. Based in Camden, Delaware, this long-term contract position offers the opportunity to manage financial reporting, ensure compliance with regulatory standards, and contribute to strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate will bring a depth of expertise in accounting processes and leadership to drive operational excellence.Responsibilities of Controller
Oversee all aspects of the company's accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and financial reporting.
Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal control standards.
Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for accuracy and completeness.
Manage the month-end and year-end close processes.
Collaborate with external auditors and support annual audit activities.
Develop and implement internal controls to safeguard company assets.
Partner with senior leadership to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making.
Lead, mentor, and develop accounting staff.
Support ERP implementation, upgrades, and ongoing system optimization.
Requirements:Skills/Qualifications of Controller
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA or CMA strongly preferred.
8+ years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
Experience working in a publicly traded company required
Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting, and internal controls.
Knowledgeable in ERP systems - familiarity with ERP QAD is a plus, but candidates with similar ERP experience or general ERP knowledge will be strongly considered.
Solid understanding of basic ERP functionality and ability to leverage systems to improve accounting processes.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
