- Lead a team responsible for processing multi-state payroll and global accounts payable, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and timely execution.
- Oversee payroll tax compliance, benefits deductions, wage reporting, and regulatory filings (e.g., W-2s, 1099s).
- Ensure compliance with U.S. labor laws, IRS regulations, donor guidelines, and internal policies related to payroll and vendor disbursements.
- Collaborate with GPR Team to align payroll processes with staffing, compensation changes, and onboarding/offboarding procedures.
- Oversee vendor payment cycles, including invoice approval workflows, payment runs, and vendor data integrity.
- Oversee year-end closing, audit preparation, and financial reporting related to payroll and AP activities.
- Lead process improvement and system optimization efforts, including Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) integrations and automation initiatives.
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for disbursement efficiency and service delivery.
- Oversee the team ensuring deadlines are met. Provide coaching and development to staff, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous learning.
- Maintain and monitor internal controls and segregation of duties within payroll and AP functions.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. payroll regulations, IRS rules, and 1099/foreign vendor payment requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to lead high-performing teams in a mission-driven environment.
- Ability to manage sensitive information with discretion and maintain confidentiality.

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
- Minimum of 7 years of relevant experience in payroll and accounts payable, preferably in nonprofit organization.
- At least 3 years in a supervisory or managerial role with demonstrated team leadership.
- Experience working with ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, Workday, NetSuite) and payroll platforms (e.g., ADP)
