Position SummaryThe Parenting Support Services Program is a service for families with children 0-16 that supports and enhances positive family functioning. Families receive one or both of the PSS interventions, Positive Parenting Program (Triple P) and Circle of Security Parenting, along with some case management. The Parent Educator will work collaboratively with families and community partners to ensure that the program supports parents/guardians in addressing family needs and setting and achieving family goals.The function of the PSS program is to help parents become resourceful problem solvers and be able to create a positive and safe home learning environment for children to develop emotional, behavior, and cognitive strengths. It also will help build, support, and strengthen parents’ relationship capabilities so they are better equipped to provide a quality of relationship that is more supportive of secure attachment.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesParticipates in direct care to assess needs and coordinate servicesMaintains daily/weekly scheduled appointments in electronic records systemsCarries average caseload of 10-12 familiesConduct home visits using evidence-based model to improve parental capacity, skill, development, and competence of caregiversProvide case management to help families identify and meet their basic needsFacilitate parent education groupsComplete referrals for needed resources and services in the community.Conduct ongoing assessment of family strengths, needs, and resourcesWork in collaboration with multidisciplinary team members including external partnersCompletes required documentation and paperwork including progress notes and treatment planning in a timely mannerConsult with supervisor as needed and to avoid crisesEngage in regular, reflective supervision and technical assistance with the goal of professional growthMinimum QualificationsBachelor’s degree in education, family development, social work or related fieldValid driver's license a must for in home servicesMust have excellent writing and communication skills, be highly organizedMust be able to work as a part of a teamAble to work flexible hours, some evenings requiredPreferred QualificationsPrevious experience providing direct patient care is desirable, in-home a plusKnowledge of infant/early childhood development and mental healthKnowledge in working with LGBTQ+Trained in Triple P/Circle of Security curriculumComprehensive Benefits Offered
