One way we do that is by helping community members reduce the amount of single occupancy vehicle miles traveled in the region by promoting transportation options, including transit, vanpooling, biking, walking, and teleworking.Job Summary:The Transportation Outreach and Marketing Assistant will work with the Marketing Team to: Develop content for written and digital channels that communicates LTD services and highlights special marketing campaigns and projects. The Assistant will help with community outreach efforts throughout the summer and work closely with the Marketing Team to identify targeted outreach materials and incentives for the outreach efforts. Through this work, the candidate will learn real world job skills in marketing and community outreach.Typical duties in this position include:Assist with development of marketing content including social media and website content that to support the Marketing Department customer communications. Some of the content will be specific to events, new projects or general marketing campaigns. In addition, this candidate will work in the field conducting outreach and community events and this will include tabling and the sharing of transportation information along with answering questions about LTD services and programs. Additionally, this candidate will be required to set up or take down the outreach table/booth depending on the event.Training will be provided for the candidate who receives this position so they will gain knowledge of transportation, transportation options and marketing services to the community in digital and print form. A passion for active transportation, sustainable travel options and transit and a fun and positive attitude are essential.Knowledge, skills, and abilities required:Self-motivation and initiative; excellent organization, prioritization, and time management skills; strong interpersonal communication skills; excellent written and verbal communication skills in person. Must be comfortable talking to the public and enjoy initiating conversations.Must possess excellent work habits, be reliable and have a strong attention to detail and ability to focus in a busy, shared workspace. Must have the ability to develop and maintain productive relationships and to collaborate on projects; proficiency in Microsoft Office essential and website platforms is helpful; knowledge of local transit is helpful.Ideal candidates can include those that have taken college level courses in transportation, public policy, community planning, environmental studies, sociology, marketing or other related disciplines and have a demonstrated interest in marketing and communicating about active transportation.Qualifications:Any equivalent combination of education and experience, which provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities, required to perform the job. Education and course work can substitute for years of experience. Must be available to work June 19 - August 30, 2024.Compensation and Work Schedule:This position is a part-time limited duration position working 10 - 15 hours per week through 6/15/2024 then 15 - 20 hours per week through August 30, 2024. This position is not eligible for benefits. The pay range is $19.00 - $21.00 per hour DOE. The work schedule for this position is flexible depending on availability between Monday-Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional Saturdays or Sundays or an occasional evening may be required depending on the finalized summer outreach schedule and the candidate will know way ahead of time.How to apply:Visit our website: .
